It has been a truly awful few
weeks months years decades here at Casa Magnetobold but you know what? For a change, I don’t want to talk about that.
I am over talking about the shit that rains down here and puddles at my feet and constantly messes up my pretty shoes.
BTW OMG PRETTIES! Totally doing a post about my new pretties and I don’t even CARE if no fucker comments or if only one person comments and is all ‘I don’t like them’.
Where was I?
And here is some slap you around the head smack you on the arse jiggle you up and down till you are slack jawed and giddy happy shit right here motherfucker.
So Maddie couldn’t come home for her birthday cause she was working, which for those that are new here is the day before Boo’s – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDIE!, I was a tad emo…
WAIT COME BACK!
So I went a little bit overboard on Boo’s birthday table cause I couldn’t do one for Maddie. YET.
MPS and I stayed up late setting it up for Boo the night before so he could see it in the morning when he woke up.
When I woke him up in the morning he was all grumpy fucking teenager until he came in and saw his birthday ROOM and his SURPRISE MACCAS BREAKFAST (vomit) and he was so damn cute I nearly cried.
But then he made us wait to eat till he had a shower. Stupidhead Autism routines meaning my hashbrown was cold.
He asked me if he had to go to school on his birthday and I was all ready for an argument when I said yes and he was all ‘ Thank God’. Crazy child.
I dropped him off at school, where the office ladies and the teachers were wishing him a Happy Birthday and hightailed it to work with a big smile on my face cause he looked so damn happy.
When I got to school to pick him up he was sitting at the office with one of his aides with a gift bag full of presents.
The teachers had put on a party for him in the teachers lounge at lunch time*.
And sparklers. Which he tried to blow out and they apparently thought was the cutest thing ever.
And presents of textas and pencils and erasers and all sorts of arty things that Boo loves.
And Boo stood up and thanked them all and cut up the cake.
But his main aide wasn’t there so he cut two pieces, one for her and one for him, and saved a sparkler, for them to do it again the next day so she didn’t miss out.
Apparently there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Apparently there isn’t a dry eye in THIS room.
I am so deeply touched that they did this for my boy.
I am so proud of my boy for thinking of his other aide and making sure she didn’t miss out.
When we got in the car Boo turned to me and said ‘They really like me. Why do they like me?’
Which simultaneously made my heart soar and then plummet.
So we had a long ‘Boo conversation’ about how fucking AWESOME he is, and about when he feels overwhelmed and how that makes others feel and yada yada. And by the end Boo was pretty convinced that everyone except a couple of people that are extremely difficult think he is more awesome than Angus Young, which is pretty damn awesome in Boo’s world.
The rest of his birthday was fabulous and he loved his presents (an electric guitar, one of those lightbox things from Typo, other misc stuff) and birthday dinner but nothing will top the kindness and friendship shown to Boo by his teachers and aides.
And Boo to them.
* Boo spends lunch time in the teachers lounge basically sleeping on the couches cause he finds classes so exhausting. I am completely fine with that and given the alternative – him being in the playground alone without supervision – I am grateful to the teachers for giving him that option.
