Usually at this time of year I am just getting over Too’s birthday party and madly planning Moo/Maddie’s and Boo’s (probably on the same damn day because I am a glutton for punishment).
Three separate themes and at least one milestone birthday chucked in there for good measure.
I am not one for a couple of streamers and a packet mix cake (not that there is anything wrong with that) I am all about the OCCASION and as much effort as humanly possible without actually dying from stress.
And I love every motherfucking second of it.
The planning starts months in advance but usually around now it is at fever pitch because I have SO MANY MORE ideas from awesome things that happened at Too’s party that I TOTALLY have to find a way to incorporate them into the vastly different themes of Moo/Maddie and Boo’s birthdays.
Alas this year Too didn’t want to do anything.
Moo/Maddie wants a get together in the city with her friends.
And Boo’s parties were really all about his friends and thanking them for being so awesome, Boo spent the start of the party stimming over the decorations and then the rest hiding out in his room. So this year he wants nothing.
Except for an elaborate 3 tiered cake in the shape of the television network he is creating. Duh.
Damn those Emos for growing up and leaving home.
So here I am, at the end of September with nothing to do.
Because we always had the parties at home, I am in the decluttering/cleaning phase which is a bonus, but it sucks when I am washing down walls or completely changing around rooms unnecessarily and have this BRILLIANT idea for a party and no one to plan for.
Twenty one years being party planner extraordinaire, and now I am just twiddling my thumbs or whatever it is that you people with no parties to plan do with your lives.
I might ring Moo/Maddie and ask her if I can plan a little tea party or something a week after her birthday… you know for old times sake.
I saw this ADORABLE table runner that I could easily make on pinterest…
And I am envisioning a table full of pastels and fake pearls. And macarons! Petite fours. Cucumber sandwiches and pretty tea cups.
A chandelier made of feathers…
Come on. You can’t just cut me off completely.
