I was running late to pick up Boo because I
lost track of time watching Gretchen and Tamra have at it on RHOC had some very important housework to finish, so by the time I pulled up out front of the school I was actually about a block from it.
Motherfucking cars EVERYWHERE.
And the bell had already rang.
So I ran to the office, my arse slapping me in the back of the head the entire way, and made it with seconds to spare.
Boo wanders in, a kid behind him yells ‘seeya Boo!’
And Boo, as is his way, ignores the shit outta the kid.
Now this is not unusual. Anyone that has spent time with the dude is pretty much enamoured by him and I feel a little like the manager of a rock star sometimes as Boo wanders along oblivious while kids call out hello or come up to say something to him.
So, as always, I ask Boo who the kid was, so I can say hello to the poor bastard next time Boo ignores him.
‘That’s Sam. He is my best friend’
I try to compose myself while tears well in my eyes ‘Oh, right. So do you guys hang out?’
I change tactics ‘So do you and Sam go to the Student Support Room together’
My mind is whirling. Should I invite this kid over? OMG they will be best friends forever and I better meet his parents and I bet they will be pleased that Sam has a best friend too…
Sam is the kid Boo BIT ON THE HEAD last term.
Methinks the parents wont want too much to do with me except perhaps to ask when was Boo’s last tetanus shot…
‘So, you and Sam are friends. That is awesome’
‘Yeah…’ Boo replies and then wanders off to a group of girls in EXTREEEEEEMELY short shorts on a 12 degree day that have just called out to him.
My Boo. He is totally a playa.
With a Best Friend.
