When I picked Boo up from school yesterday he was not happy.
Kid was rather fucking miffed.
He dropped his iPhone (my old one and just used as an iPod), the holder of all of his music and the keeper of his calm on the CARPET of his classroom and the motherfucker smashed to smithereens.
Dig if you will.
Damn, son.
Apparently he took it like a trooper.
No yelling or screaming. Just a sigh and a ‘Oh NO!’ and telling everyone that his dad will fix it.
So when we got home I googled how much it would cost to replace it with just an iPod and I was all, HELL TO THE NO.
So I did the sums.
And again.
And I texted MPS with the news.
And 8.4 seconds later he was standing out the front of JB HiFi.
And now he is the proud owner of one of these…
And Boo has his old iPhone.
I am the BEST wife in the history of fucking ever.
Fucker owes me.

Yes, he does. BIG TIME.
Yay! new toy!
Haha everybody wins!
And you probably did all of this while doubled over in pain?
heh. Yeah. Wasn’t that bad then, though.
The Apple Store is really, really great about replacing stuff destroyed by an individual with autism — for FREE! They’ve got s special code for it and everything!
Signed,
Auntie to an Aspie who is on her 3rd free replacement iphone 6
seriously? That phone was an old iPhone 4s though so couldn’t be replaced anyway.
But good to know!
Yup! Ideally, you make an Apple Store appointment and take the broken iPhone AND the person with autism with you. Be sure to tell the Apple Genius that the AUTISTIC person did [whatever caused the iPhone to die, even if it’s not covered by the warranty]. Specifically mention autism. Apple’s super-duper great about it!
My sister (aka my Aspie nephew’s mom) got the first two replacement iPads for free and got charged $75 or so from replacement #3 onwards.
I’d also recommend the “Casemate” 2-piece metal iPhone case (pretty much indestructible, advertised as tested on autistic toddlers) and the “Otterbox” protector for iPads.
you are a rockstar! Thanks!
Good to hear that Boo got a replacement quickly, even if MPS did have to get a new toy to make that happen. But I would take Katie’s advice and go to Apple, get a replacement for the broken one and keep it as a spare.
Best wife AND best mother. You get two for the price of one.
Best wife & mum AND on birthday week too 😉
Speaking of Happy day of fantasticness to you!
Please do what I do and buy a Lifeproof case, they are $79 BUT they can withstand water, dropping, throwing, kicking, tears of frustration and WAY cheaper than a new phone. xxx You da best alright
Really re the Apple store replacement thingy? Well i will be needing to book myself and appointment stat as my Autistic son has done a beauty on his apple product… But Kelley, yes MPS owes you big.. Holiday? oxo
I second the Otterbox comment. I’ve got one on my Galaxy S4 and I was told when I bought it, that it would outlast the 2 year phone contract. Team that with a toughened glass screen protector, and they’re nearly indestructible.
