Those of you that have been around for a while will know that a few years back MPS decided on a career change and went back to school.
To study IT. Not IT as in the euphemism, IT as in Information Technology AKA the dude you call when your computer fucks up and they ask you to turn it off and on again.
HOT TIP: Before calling your friendly IT guy, try turning your shit off and on again. Trust me. Humour them.
Anyway, while he was at school one of his teachers took a shine to him.
And then began propositioning him. And when her advances were politely declined (HELLO, dude has a hot wife who is kinda a big deal on her blog at home) she started accusing him of all kinds of whackadoodle shit.
Seriously fucking weird shit.
Like boil your bunny shit.
This continued for months and months because no one would take it seriously. A MAN harassing a woman? Instant dismissal. A WOMAN harassing a MAN? He must have led her on, DONE SOMETHING to warrant this attention.
Even now, while you are reading this, I can feel you thinking the same… so you can only imagine how hard it was for MPS.
Thankfully she was (and still is) batshit fucking crazy and as the accusations escalated it became pretty fucking obvious there is no way in hell he could have done the things she accused him of unless he was Harry Potter.
Or Severus Snape.
Mmmmm… Snape… RAWR. (note to self: Get MPS a black wig and long robes)
Ahem.
Eventually she was disciplined, which in reality she was just told she wasn’t allowed to follow him around and chase him in the carpark any more, and things went back to some semblance of normal. MPS working in the IT department of the school, she still teaching and he requesting anyone else but him service her IT needs.
Fast forward to now and MPS is doing contract work for another organisation and they are loving the shit outta him.
As are the ladies in the office *rolls eyes* he is not so damn attractive when he is taking a dump with the bathroom door open you know…
And in order for him to be the best possible candidate to secure the job permanently he needs to finish his schooling. The formally handing over of a piece of paper saying ‘HUZZAH! You know your shite’ (with an e because it makes it all formal and fancy and probably is some Olde Time font) that didn’t happen because he was employed by the school halfway through, to prevent him from being poached by another company that he was doing work experience for.
He got distinctions in everything and EVEN TAUGHT AN ACTUAL CLASS and all he needs to finish is a recognition of prior learning.
And guess who has to grant that?
Yup.
MPS called her today. And then followed it up with an email.
I feel sick in the stomach. I want to disconnect the phone, lest the calls start again.
I don’t want our future held by some batshit lunatic that should have been fired for her unprofessional behaivour towards a student and then a colleague.
I am pretty sure there are many adult films built around the theme of a female teacher sexually harassing a male student. Hell I bet many teenage boys fantasize about that very thing.
But in reality the teacher NEVER looks like that (and even if she did it is irrelevant) and unwelcome advances are just that… UN-FUCKING-WELCOME regardless who wears the dangly appendage.
And no matter what, the person doing the harassing should never ever be put in a position where they can wield this kind of power.
So we have to sit and wait, and document, document DOCUMENT.
And, depending on the whims of a clearly unstable woman, MPS will either walk away with a degree and a job or have to go back to school.
Somewhere ELSE. Obviously.

Holy crap what a nightmare. I’m sorry you guys have to deal with this. Very Fatal Attraction indeed. It’s very hard to get any real action on harassment or bullying at workplaces no matter what the rhetoric might be. Good luck MPS with the crazy lady.

what is astounding is she was allowed to get away with it for so long and nothing was done until she started making accusations against him. And then HE was the one being questioned.

Surely with all the shit that’s gone on, there would be consideration for MPS getting his bit of paper from someone else on Batshitcrazy’s behalf??
This is all kinds of wrong, particularly given the disciplinary history. Time for MPS to ring her supervisor, and/or the student legal/counselling service there. Disciplinary action means there is a formal record of the events. Use it!
It’s screwed up. Some people think it’s funny when it’s a guy because it’s called harassment for a reason.
My first real job was with the public service and one of the guys who worked with me got some pretty harassment from our female boss. He was unsure how to deal with it, couldn’t even report it to the Sexual Harassment Office because it was her! In the end, I called her on it jokingly and she stopped.
We later found out a lot of guys in the office wouldn’t work back late because she’d corner them.
This is really unfair, completely unfair! I’m baffled how a system allows such things to work their way like that

There are so very many things wrong with this that I don’t know where to start. I don’t blame you for feeling sick about it. I hope he gets his piece of paper and you can move on. And river’s fifteen ton truck sounds like a good idea, too.
What a fucking weirdo! There are so many freaks like that around and I don’t understand how they continue to get away with that kind of shit so often. Not cool at all!
