Today, the day after my eldest turns 21, my forever toddler turns 14.
He is still obsessed with fonts, drawing and teletubbies.
But add Thriller, old horror movies, Epic Meal Time and K-Pop girls to the mix.
He still won’t wash his hair, sleep through the night or wear pants.
But he is noticing girls and locks the bathroom door when he showers.
This year is the first year of no party. He just wants family at home with chicken and chips.
And a cinnamon tea cake.
And chocolate cupcakes.
And his Soda Stream.
So no elaborate carved cake that takes weeks of planning and days to construct.
He didn’t even want me to send cupcakes to school.
My baby still so much a child.
But a teenager is fighting his way out.
Happy Birthday Butthead. I love you.
