You know those nights you are so tired you can’t see straight.
The nights where you fall into bed exhaustion deep in your bones.
Then you remember you needed to do something but you are not sure what it was. So the mental check list starts
Children – in bed, Alive and well
Husband – also alive
I went to the toilet… Maybe I should go again? Maybe that is it.
So you drag your weary self out if bed.
But that wasn’t it, while I’m up might as well double check those doors.
Are the kids still breathing.
And at some point you trip over your own feet or misjudge the distance between your head and the wall. Ouch.
Then you remember that thing you really needed to do.
Go. To. Sleep.
