Today my angel boy turned eleven.
Eleven.
That number just blows my mind.
This morning, despite the fact that he has been ADAMANT that it is NOT his birthday, he was up bright and early waiting for his present.
The present that he already knew what it was thanks to MOTY’s expert babysitting skillz, watching TV while Boo ransacked my room and was found stimming madly at the open box. *sigh*
this is so freaking awesome!
The boy has never loved a present more in his life. It is a Samurai Sentai Shinkenger DX Shinken-oh and yes I totally cut and pasted that word from the website, cause day-um. Boo has a whole list of shit he wants from that website, not for Christmas of course, just for a special present day. Oh, I see. I am thinking special present day falls on December 25 buddy…
When we arrived at school kids swarmed around wishing Boo a Happy Birthday making my heart sing.
At recess I delivered 3 fucking dozen cupcakes for the kids {and teachers and support staff} to share in Boo’s birthday celebrations. Despite the fact that it was ‘NOT MY BIRTHDAY MUM!’

Tonight we celebrated the day that must not be named with a barbeque and yet another Japanese themed cake.
this little fucker nearly did my damn head in.
Apparently this dude is a Pokemon, Piplup to be exact. Whatevz.
Happy Birthday Boo. Every day you continue to amaze and frustrate the ever living shit out of me. The way it should be.

All your cakes are fantastic. LOL my Boo had a Pichu cake this year for her 8th bday, but as I havent yet taken the time to learn the art of making extraordinary cakes with gluten free/egg free requirements, hers was just a plain old chocolate gf/eggfree packet cake, smothered in choc icing (til it was dripping off), covered in large gf choc freckles and a plastic pichu stuck on the top of it (i borrowed it from DS’s boxes of shit that he has stuck under his bed in random disorderliness, only took me 2 hours to find the damn thing, very nearly decided to stick a green fluffy pokewhatzit that I have no idea wtf its call on the cake instead of the requested Pichu, at least the Pichu was dishwasher washable lol).
Your (should say Boo’s) Samurai watzit, looks vaguely like the original Voltron (there were three of the damned things just to be confusing, one made of lions, one of space cars and one of space ships??), just a japanese version. Has your Boo seen Voltron? He might like it, my pokemon, digimon, powerballz, anime mad children love the old eps of voltron.
I will have to show my kids the pics of your cakes (during daylight hours lol) as they will love them even more than I do, and will definitely bow to your awesomeness.

FrogDancer dont you dare be ashamed of your efforts at cakes for your kids. Let me tell you that any cake, even sad-as packet cakes are hundreds of times better than none at all. I can say that with experience, as my mother wasn’t much into mothering me, especially the older i got, so never had a birthday cake for my 16th or my 18th and I made my own for my 21st party.
Kelleys cakes are absolutely awesome, I would kill for her to make me that sushi cake, but I truly believe that any effort is better than none. So be awed by her awesomeness, but dont be ashamed that you put effort into making your sons birthdays happy or special for them.
